The Tech Journey of Elizabeth Agada: Frontend Developer, Community Builder, and Lifelong Learner

Elizabeth Agada’s story is one of curiosity, resilience, and a relentless drive to create impact through technology and community. She didn’t always know she would end up in tech, but life had a way of leading her there—and once she discovered it, she never looked back.

Growing up, Elizabeth was the kind of child who couldn’t resist taking things apart just to see how they worked. Her elder sister jokingly called her “Discovery Channel” because she was always investigating, always questioning. That curiosity once led her to dismantle the family DVD player, carefully examining every component before putting it back together—only to find that it never worked again. But even then, she wasn’t discouraged. For her, understanding how things functioned was worth the risk.

Originally, she dreamed of studying Pharmacy. Chemistry fascinated her, and for a long time, she thought that would be her path. But when she wasn’t admitted into the program, she found herself pivoting to Computer Science—a field she hadn’t initially considered. At the time, she didn’t realize how much that decision would shape her future. What started as a fallback option soon became a passion. The logic of programming, the creativity of problem-solving, and the endless possibilities of software development captivated her. She immersed herself in learning, building a strong foundation in web development, system administration, and coding.

About five years ago, she took her first deep dive into frontend development, and it was a turning point. There was something magical about writing code and seeing it come to life on a screen—transforming abstract ideas into tangible, functional applications. She threw herself into mastering HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and various frameworks, constantly pushing herself to learn more. The more she built, the more she realized that tech wasn’t just a career for her—it was a way of thinking, a way of solving problems, a way of creating something meaningful.

But Elizabeth’s journey didn’t stop at coding. Along the way, she discovered another passion: community building. She realized that technology wasn’t just about writing lines of code—it was about people. She began managing communities, including Sandlip-Oasis, where she helped others navigate their own tech journeys. She organized training sessions, hosted career spotlights, and created spaces where people could learn, grow, and support one another. Seeing someone land a job, master a new skill, or gain confidence because of a community she helped build became one of the most rewarding parts of her work.

Her dedication to empowering others led her to take on roles as an Organizer for Google Developer Groups (GDG) and an Ambassador for Women Techmakers (WTM). Through these platforms, she mentored aspiring developers, championed diversity in tech, and organized events that brought people together. She believed deeply in the power of shared knowledge and collaboration—that no one should have to struggle alone when a community could lift them up.

Of course, juggling community management, tech projects, and personal growth wasn’t always easy. There were moments when the workload felt overwhelming, when she questioned whether she was doing enough. But she learned to pace herself, to prioritize, and to remind herself that progress wasn’t about doing everything at once. She started journaling to reflect on her journey, to celebrate small wins, and to keep herself grounded.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Elizabeth found joy in the little things—like binge-watching medical dramas. There was something about the precision of surgeries, the way doctors worked together to save lives, that reminded her of software development. Both were about solving puzzles, about every small piece contributing to a larger solution.

At the heart of it all, Elizabeth’s story is about impact. Whether through coding, mentoring, or building communities, she wanted to create solutions that helped people. She believed in the power of communication, trust, and commitment—not just in work, but in every aspect of life.

Her advice to young people starting in tech? Start where you are. You don’t need all the answers to begin. Stay curious, keep exploring, and trust the process.

For Elizabeth, this is only the beginning. She doesn’t have everything figured out, and she’s okay with that. She’s learning as she goes—one project, one lesson, one community at a time. And if her journey so far is any indication, the best is yet to come.

Sparks of Innovation: How One Engineer Electrified His Dreams and Empowered a Community

In the heart of Ningi, a small town in Nigeria, a young boy’s fascination with how things worked began to take root. What started as simple childhood curiosity would later blossom into a lifelong passion for Electrical Engineering, shaping not only his career but also his mission to empower communities and redefine the electrical services industry. This is the story of a man who turned challenges into opportunities, using his skills and determination to light up lives—both literally and figuratively.

His journey began during his university days, where he initially explored the world of fashion design and men’s wear under the banner of SBN Collection. However, it wasn’t long before his true calling—Electrical Engineering—took center stage. As a trained engineer, he saw an opportunity to merge his technical expertise with his entrepreneurial spirit. This marked the birth of General Electrical Contracts, a company dedicated to the sales and supply of electrical appliances. The name “SBN” was more than just an acronym; it was a reflection of his identity—Sulaiman Bala Ningi—a tribute to his roots and the place that shaped him.

After earning his master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, he joined the Rural Electrification Agency in Katsina State. It was here, as a junior engineer, that he identified a critical gap in the market. Engineers often struggled to procure the necessary tools and equipment for their projects. This realization sparked an idea: a business that could streamline the process of sourcing electrical appliances and provide reliable general contracts. With the seed money from his PTDF postgraduate scholarship, he took the leap and turned his vision into reality. Slowly but surely, the pieces began to fall into place.

For him, education has always been the foundation of meaningful progress. Electrical Engineering, he often reflects, is one of the most demanding fields, requiring a deep reservoir of knowledge, continuous learning, and unwavering dedication. He attributes his success to the guidance of Allah and the solid educational foundation he received. Without these, he believes he would not have achieved half of what he has in such a short time.

The driving force behind his entrepreneurial journey was the harsh reality of unemployment. Like many young graduates, he faced the daunting challenge of finding a job. But instead of succumbing to despair, he channeled his passion for Electrical Engineering into creating opportunities for himself and others. His vision was clear: to build a company known for its quality, honesty, and integrity.

Today, his company, SBN General Electrical Ventures Ltd., operates on the principles of competency, merit, and experience. Every decision is guided by the company’s constitution and the teachings of the Holy Qur’an. For him, integrity is non-negotiable, and he ensures that his business reflects this value in every aspect of its operations.

His journey has not been without challenges. Yet, he firmly believes that every obstacle can be overcome through patience, hard work, learning from failures, and prayer. These values have been his compass, guiding him through difficult times and helping him emerge stronger.

His ultimate goal is to establish SBN General Electrical Ventures Ltd. as a leader in the electrical and renewable energy sectors. His vision encompasses sales, supply, production, import and export, installation, and general contracts. He aspires to master the trade of electrical accessories, becoming a trusted wholesaler, retailer, and supplier of technical tools. Additionally, he aims to expand into renewable energy services, including solar electric systems, inverter systems, automatic voltage regulators, energy audits, load balancing, CCTV surveillance systems, and clean energy solutions. His dream is to contribute to the development of sustainable energy infrastructure, from generating stations to hydro and wind power plants.

One of his proudest achievements is his involvement in the Lassa Isolation Center at ATBUTH, a project founded by Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). This project stands as a testament to his commitment to using his skills for the greater good. While he remains modest about his accomplishments, he hints at even bigger projects on the horizon, promising exciting developments in the near future, insha Allah.

His advice to young people is simple yet profound: invest in your integrity and build a strong, honest reputation. He emphasizes that reputation is everything and should be guarded with the same intensity as one’s life. For him, success is not just about financial gain but about making a meaningful impact and leaving a legacy of excellence.

Through his journey, he has proven that with passion, education, and unwavering integrity, it is possible to turn challenges into opportunities and dreams into reality. His story continues to inspire those who dare to dream and work tirelessly to achieve their goals.

From ATBU to Digital Innovation: The Inspiring Journey of Umar Saleh Siyi and Rocket Digital Agency

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem.

Umar Saleh Siyi's story is one of passion, perseverance, and digital transformation. A computer science graduate from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in Bauchi, where he's currently pursuing an MSc in Cybersecurity, Umar's journey into tech entrepreneurship began with a simple observation: many challenges in his community could be solved through technology. Born and raised in Bauchi with roots in Siyi village (Ganjuwa LGA) and the Dankofa family (Bauchi LGA), his educational foundation was laid at Fariah Foundation School before he embarked on his remarkable tech journey.

What sets Umar apart is his insatiable curiosity. While studying computer science, he didn't limit himself to classroom knowledge. He taught himself web development, UI/UX design, and strategic communications, seeing how these skills could address real problems around him. This self-driven learning would later become the bedrock of his entrepreneurial success. By graduation, he had already transformed from a student into a solutions-driven tech professional.

The birth of Rocket Digital Agency came from this problem-solving mindset. Together with co-founder Yusuf Habu, Umar envisioned a digital solutions provider that would help businesses thrive in the digital age. The name "Rocket" wasn't chosen by accident—it emerged after considering several options during an intense brainstorming session. "We wanted something that captured speed, growth, and limitless potential," Umar explains. "When we landed on 'Rocket,' we knew it perfectly represented our mission to propel businesses forward."

Umar's professional journey has been anything but linear. From digital marketing and software development to political PR campaigns and government data initiatives, each experience contributed to shaping Rocket Digital Agency's unique approach. Even his unexpected involvement in student politics (Aluta) during his university days played a role, sharpening his leadership and negotiation skills in unexpected ways.

The ATBU influence runs deep in Umar's approach to business. "The university didn't just teach me computer science," he reflects. "It instilled discipline, perseverance, and that 'can-do' spirit that defines how we operate at Rocket." This combination of technical expertise and problem-solving mentality allows the agency to create customized digital solutions rather than offering one-size-fits-all services.

In Nigeria's competitive digital space, Rocket Digital Agency stands out through its blend of technical prowess, local market understanding, and commitment to client success. "We don't just execute projects; we transform our clients' digital ecosystems," Umar emphasizes. This client-centric philosophy has helped them overcome the inevitable challenges of building a startup in Nigeria's tough business environment.

One project that particularly stands out in Rocket's portfolio is The Kaura Situation and Control Room Project during Nigeria's last elections. This high-pressure initiative demonstrated their ability to deliver real-time data solutions for crisis management, proving their capacity to handle complex, large-scale digital implementations.

As for the future, Umar's vision is clear: establishing Rocket Digital Agency as Northern Nigeria's leading digital transformation partner while continuously developing innovative solutions to real-world problems. His advice to aspiring entrepreneurs? "Start now. Master your craft, focus on delivering value, and never stop learning. The digital world waits for no one."

Through Umar's leadership, Rocket Digital Agency isn't just another tech company—it's a testament to how passion, when combined with skill and determination, can launch businesses (and clients) to incredible heights. Just like a rocket.

Today, Sulaiman is known for capturing powerful moments and telling compelling stories through his lens, making him one of the most sought-after photographers in the region.

The name Ahbee holds a special meaning for him. It originated during his early days at ATBU, where he was close to two classmates. His IT background has been instrumental in shaping his career. Beyond technical skills like editing and file management, it’s taught him problem-solving, adaptability, and effective communication—skills that have helped him work seamlessly with high-profile clients and organizations. His IT knowledge has also enhanced his online presence and digital marketing strategies, allowing him to connect with a broader audience.

For Sulaiman, photography is more than just taking pictures—it’s about storytelling. He’s driven by the power of visuals to capture emotions, history, and culture in ways words cannot. Whether it’s through documentary work, corporate photography, or cinematography, he sees his camera as a voice that speaks without words. This passion keeps him motivated, pushing him to explore new techniques like drone cinematography and to collaborate with organizations that value impactful imagery.

At Ahbee Photography, Sulaiman stands for impact, storytelling, and authenticity. His work with humanitarian organizations like Sadaqah Welfare Fund has shown him how powerful images can inspire change. Every project is handled with professionalism and innovation, ensuring that each image is not just visually striking but also meaningful.

Building Ahbee Photography hasn’t been without challenges. From competition and financial constraints to managing difficult clients, there were moments he thought of quitting. But he remained committed, relying on creativity and skill to deliver exceptional results. Over time, the brand grew into one known for quality and sincerity, proving that challenges are stepping stones to success.

Looking ahead, Sulaiman’s long-term goal is to establish a creative hub that brings together professionals in photography, cinematography, and related fields. This space will foster learning, collaboration, and innovation, setting new standards in the industry. He also aims to mentor aspiring creatives and expand his reach through global collaborations, making Ahbee Photography a leading name in the next 5–10 years.

One of his most memorable projects was during the 2022 election campaign in Bauchi State. Competing against 267 talented individuals, he won first place and received a brand-new car. That experience was a defining moment, reinforcing his belief in hard work and dedication.

Currently, Sulaiman is working on an exciting project titled "Explore Bauchi." The goal is to showcase the beauty of Bauchi State through photography and cinematography, highlighting its landscapes, culture, and history. By collaborating with creatives and tourism agencies, he hopes to inspire more people to appreciate the state’s uniqueness.

His advice to aspiring photographers is simple: be sincere, respect time, and keep your promises. Photography is a journey that requires patience and dedication. Stay consistent, keep learning, and success will follow. Through Ahbee Photography, Sulaiman has shown that with passion and perseverance, you can turn challenges into opportunities and create a lasting impact through the lens.

The Rise of Aminu Star: A Tale of Passion, Perseverance, and Apple Care Excellence

Let me tell you the story of Aminu Abubakar, a man known to many as Aminu Star. Born and raised in Bauchi, Nigeria, Aminu’s journey is one of determination, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. With a Master’s degree in Management Information Technology from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Aminu’s story is not just about academic achievement but about how he turned his passion for technology into a thriving business.

Aminu’s journey began long before he became a household name in the tech world. As an undergraduate student, he started small, fixing phones—BlackBerry, Nokia, and other basic devices. It was a humble beginning, but it laid the foundation for what would become his life’s work. Over time, his focus shifted to Apple products—iPhones, iMacs, iPads, and Apple Watches. At first, he only repaired these devices, but his expertise and dedication soon set him apart.

He decided to name his business “Apple Care,” a name that reflected his hands-on approach to repairing Apple devices. To make his brand unique, he added “Aminu Star” to it. Today, while you’ll find countless shops with names like “Apple Store” or “Apple Shop,” there’s only one “Apple Care” in town—and that’s Aminu’s.

As the years went by, Aminu’s business evolved. What started as a repair service expanded to include buying, selling, and swapping Apple products. His slogan became: “We buy, we sell, we swap, and we fix anything Apple.” It wasn’t just a business; it was a testament to his growing expertise and his ability to adapt to the needs of his customers.

Aminu’s academic background played a crucial role in his success. With a degree in both management and information technology, he understood the value of strategic planning and the importance of treating every customer with respect. These skills helped him build a business that wasn’t just about profit but about creating value for the people he served.

For Aminu, customer satisfaction has always been the top priority. He believes that a business exists to serve its customers, and he goes out of his way to make them feel valued. But running a business hasn’t been without its challenges. One of the biggest hurdles he’s faced is dealing with customers who promise to pay for goods or services later but fail to follow through. Only about 2% of such customers pay back without issues, while the rest often come up with excuses. Another challenge is customers who leave their phones for repairs and don’t return for years, only to come back demanding their device or compensation.

Through these experiences, Aminu has learned two important lessons. First, if you can’t help someone, don’t harm them. Leave them as you found them. Second, you can’t satisfy everyone. Do your best and leave the rest, because you can’t control everything. These lessons have shaped his approach to business and life.

Looking to the future, Aminu is excited about diversifying into other IT-related fields beyond mobile devices. His upcoming project involves building or renting a larger physical store to address the limitations of his current space. This expansion will allow him to solve problems he hasn’t been able to tackle so far.

To aspiring entrepreneurs, Aminu offers this advice: First, always prioritize customer satisfaction. If your customers are happy, everything else will fall into place. Second, once you earn a customer’s trust, do everything in your power to keep it. Trust, he believes, is the foundation of any successful business.

Aminu Star’s story is one of passion, perseverance, and growth. From fixing phones as a student to building a brand that stands out in the tech industry, he has come a long way. And as he looks to the future, one thing is clear: Aminu Star is just getting started.

Ayarikha’s Journey: Building Beauty and Empowering Dreams

Let me tell you about Ayarikha Isa Kano—a woman of passion, resilience, and vision. She’s an entrepreneur, a makeup artist, the CEO of Luxurious Beauty Lounge, and the founder of the Lifeline Outreach Initiative. Her story is one of determination, creativity, and a deep desire to make a difference.

Ayarikha grew up in a Muslim household where faith and the teachings of the Quran were deeply cherished. She attended Urat Memorial Academy for her primary and secondary education and later earned an ND in Mass Communication. But her journey wasn’t just about academics; it was about finding her purpose.

Growing up, Ayarikha didn’t see many examples of financial independence or career success around her. That lack of representation became a driving force in her life. She knew early on that she wanted to create a different path for herself—one where she could thrive on her own terms. That desire to break the mold and build something meaningful led her to entrepreneurship.

Her journey began with makeup. She started *@Ayarikha.Glam* from a small home studio, pouring her creativity and love for beauty into every brushstroke. But Ayarikha didn’t stop there. When it was time to expand, she dreamed bigger. She combined her makeup services with a hair salon and named it *Luxurious Beauty Lounge* (LBL). The name reflects her vision: a space that embodies luxury, elegance, and top-notch service. For Ayarikha, if it’s luxurious, count her in.

But LBL is more than just a salon. It’s a sanctuary where women feel confident, rejuvenated, and empowered. Ayarikha wanted to create a space where clients could unwind, feel beautiful, and leave with a renewed sense of self. It’s not just about beauty services; it’s about creating a safe space for women to connect and feel valued.

Ayarikha is a lifelong learner. She believes every day is an opportunity to grow, and she’s always seeking new knowledge. Her background in Mass Communication has been a huge asset, helping her manage people, connect with diverse cultures, and communicate effectively. It’s also taught her the importance of adaptability, which has been crucial in navigating the challenges of entrepreneurship.

One of her biggest supporters has been her sister. She’s been Ayarikha’s rock, motivating and encouraging her emotionally and financially. Her sister’s belief in her has given Ayarikha the courage to stay consistent, even when things get tough. And consistency, she’s learned, is the backbone of any successful business. At LBL, Ayarikha prioritizes excellence in everything they do—from using top-tier products to training her staff to deliver exceptional service. Their hair treatments, for example, focus on hair health and length retention because Ayarikha genuinely cares about her clients’ needs. It’s not just about making money; it’s about making a difference.

But her journey hasn’t been without challenges. One of the toughest moments was when she had to relocate her business unexpectedly. The original location wasn’t working, and she had to find a new space and move within two weeks. It was a whirlwind, but Ayarikha managed to reopen and continue operations in less than a month. That experience taught her resilience and the importance of staying adaptable in the face of adversity.

Looking ahead, Ayarikha has big dreams. Her five-year goal is to see Luxurious Beauty Lounge become a leading name in the beauty industry, with branches across different states, Insha Allah. She’s also passionate about giving back, which is why she founded the Lifeline Outreach Initiative. Through this project, she’s trained over 100 people in makeup and salon skills, empowering them to build their own careers and create opportunities for themselves.

Ayarikha stays connected with her customers through feedback and social media. Their input is invaluable, and it’s helped her grow and improve. Right now, she’s working on expanding the Lifeline Outreach Initiative, and she’s excited about the impact they’ll continue to make.

To anyone thinking about starting their own business, Ayarikha’s advice is simple: start. Stay consistent, stay true to yourself, and find what motivates you. Seek out a mentor who can guide you, and never stop learning. The road won’t always be easy, but with passion, resilience, and a clear vision, you can achieve your dreams.

At Luxurious Beauty Lounge, Ayarikha and her team are committed to going above and beyond for their clients. Their goal is to not just meet expectations but to exceed them. And as for Ayarikha, she’ll keep chasing her dreams, one step at a time, knowing that every challenge is just another opportunity to grow.

Her story is a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and purpose. And this is only the beginning.

From Humble Beginnings to Big Dreams: The Inspiring Journey of Rabiatu Nuruddeen

Let me tell you the story of Rabiatu Nuruddeen, a determined and passionate young woman from Bauchi, Nigeria. She was born and raised along Gombe Road, where she grew up in a close-knit family of five. Rabiatu’s educational journey began at the Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC) in Bauchi, where she completed her primary education. She later attended Sa’adu Zungur Secondary School and Oxford Academy for her secondary education. Education has always been important to her, and it played a significant role in shaping her dreams and ambitions.

Rabiatu has always had a passion for the food industry, though it wasn’t something she pursued right away. The idea of creating something unique and building her own business lingered in her mind for years. It wasn’t until after she graduated from secondary school that the inspiration truly struck. Without hesitation, she decided to take the leap and start her journey. She began small, experimenting with stick meat and hibiscus drinks, popularly known as zobo. It was a humble start, but it laid the foundation for what would become her passion and profession.

Life took a difficult turn when her father passed away. It was a challenging time for her and her family, but it also became a turning point in her life. His passing ignited a fire within her to work harder and create something meaningful for herself and her family. She realized she needed to be self-reliant and build a future that could sustain them. This motivation pushed her to dive deeper into the food industry, learning the ropes and honing her skills.

Running a business hasn’t been easy for Rabiatu. She’s faced numerous challenges along the way—difficult customers, market price fluctuations, and even people collecting goods without paying. But she’s learned to navigate these hurdles with resilience and determination. Despite the obstacles, she’s remained committed to her vision. Her goal is to one day own a large restaurant that not only serves delicious food but also employs and inspires many people. She wants to create opportunities for others and empower them to achieve their own dreams.

Social media has been a game-changer for Rabiatu’s business. It has allowed her to reach a wider audience, advertise her products, and build a sense of community around her brand. Through platforms like Instagram and Facebook, she’s been able to connect with customers, share her story, and showcase her offerings. One of her proudest moments was participating in a trade fair. It was an incredible experience that meant a lot to her, as it validated her hard work and dedication. She also dreams of collaborating with NGOs as a chef, using her skills to give back to the community.

The Journey of Benazir Abba Umar: From Passion to Empire

Benazir Abba Umar, popularly known by her pen name Benaxir Omar, is an inspiring figure whose story is a testament to resilience, ambition, and the relentless pursuit of dreams. An indigene of Gombe, specifically Tudun Wada, Benazir has carved a niche for herself in diverse industries, driven by a passion for excellence and a determination to break barriers.

Born into a family that deeply values education, Benazir credits her father for his unwavering support. She holds a degree in Microbiology, a Master’s in Entrepreneurship and Business Development, and has earned certificates from Harvard Business School. Additionally, she was honored with a doctorate degree from an American university. Her thirst for knowledge has been a cornerstone of her success, as she continuously invests in learning and self-improvement. Currently, she is preparing to embark on her Ph.D. journey, a testament to her lifelong commitment to education.

Benazir’s entrepreneurial journey began a decade ago, in 2015, while she was still in university. Writing novels and sharing them online under the name *Saje Novel Writings and Sales*, she quickly gained a following. The name *Saje*, derived from her family name, holds sentimental value as it reflects her deep love and respect for her grandfather. Over time, Saje evolved from a passion project into a thriving brand synonymous with quality and satisfaction. Today, Saje is recognized for its exceptional services in food, clothing, and spa treatments, becoming a household name in Bauchi and beyond.

For Benazir, the motivation to build her empire stemmed from a desire to escape poverty. She openly admits that money was her driving force, fueling her ambition to create a life of abundance. Balancing multiple industries was no easy feat, but her strategic approach—focusing on one branch for two years before expanding—proved effective. Her ventures now span diverse sectors, including a bakery, a gold store, and plans for a school in Bauchi, which she hopes will set a new standard for education in the region.

However, her journey has not been without challenges. As a woman from northern Nigeria, Benazir faced criticism and ridicule for daring to venture into business. At one point, the societal backlash left her depressed, but the unwavering support of her family and close friends helped her persevere. Today, she takes pride in seeing more women in business, breaking stereotypes and creating opportunities for themselves.

Benazir attributes her success to consistency, patience, and prayer. She emphasizes that entrepreneurship is far from easy, but with dedication and a willingness to learn, it is possible to overcome obstacles. Her commitment to proper structure and continuous training ensures that her team delivers top-notch services, setting Saje apart from competitors.

Looking ahead, Benazir’s vision is to ensure that Saje becomes a legacy, benefiting generations to come. She dreams of building a brand that every household in northern Nigeria—and eventually the entire country—will recognize and appreciate. Through her online presence and occasional in-person engagements, she remains connected to her audience, fostering a community that values quality and excellence.

One of her most challenging ventures was the bakery project, which tested her resilience. It took two years of relentless effort, financial strain, and emotional turmoil to bring it to fruition. There were moments when she considered giving up, but her determination paid off. Today, the bakery stands as a symbol of her perseverance and a reminder that success often comes after enduring the toughest trials.

Benazir’s story is one of courage, ambition, and unwavering faith. She has not only built a successful brand but also inspired countless women to pursue their dreams. With plans to expand her gold business and establish a school, she continues to push boundaries, proving that with consistency and hard work, anything is possible. As she often says, “Consistency brought me here, and insha Allah, it will take me to a better future.”

GrandRainbowZ: The Story of Dalyop Gasha Fom – A Journey of Art, Passion, and Purpose

Let me tell you the story of Dalyop Gasha Fom, a remarkable woman from Plateau State, Nigeria. She is a proud Berom woman, a passionate Multi-Media Artist, and a professional textile designer. Dalyop holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Estate Management Technology from the Federal Polytechnic in Bauchi, Nigeria, but her heart has always been drawn to the world of art and creativity. She dreams of achieving even greater heights, not just for herself, but for her community.

Dalyop’s journey into the world of art began in her childhood. She grew up watching her late mother, a skilled craftswoman, create beautiful patterns and designs. Her mother’s artistry fascinated her, especially the way chemicals reacted with fabrics to produce stunning results. This curiosity stayed with her into her teenage years, as she was raised in a family that valued skillfulness and production. It was this environment that inspired her to pursue tie-dye as an entrepreneurial skill.

Today, Dalyop’s designs are a reflection of her unique vision. She draws inspiration from the beauty of nature, experimenting with color combinations and abstract concepts. She also blends traditional patterns from Nigeria’s ancient Northern designers with the Adire patterns of the Southwest, creating pieces that are both modern and deeply rooted in her heritage.

But her journey hasn’t been without challenges. Starting a tie-dye textile business is a creative and rewarding venture, but it comes with its own set of obstacles. One of the biggest challenges is ensuring consistent product quality. Since every tie-dye piece is unique, maintaining uniformity in color saturation and design can be difficult. Customers might not always get the exact same result, even when ordering the same item.

Another hurdle is sourcing high-quality materials. Dalyop needs fabrics that are not only suitable for tie-dyeing but also comfortable to wear. The dyes must be vibrant and durable, which means finding reliable suppliers who offer consistent products at reasonable prices.

Marketing her business has also been a learning curve. In a saturated market, standing out requires a strong brand identity that resonates with her target audience. Building credibility and finding the right niche—especially since tie-dye fashion often appeals to specific subcultures—takes time and effort.

Scaling up production is another challenge. The hand-dyeing process is time-consuming, and balancing quality control with increased output can be overwhelming. Dalyop knows that as her business grows, she may need to hire additional help or automate parts of the process, each of which comes with its own complexities.

Despite these challenges, Dalyop remains determined. She believes that with perseverance and experience, she can overcome any obstacle. Her brand, **GrandRainbowZ**, is a testament to her vision and faith. The name combines two powerful words: *Grand*, meaning something magnificent, elegant, and impressive, and *Rainbow*, which translates to "Gasha" in her dialect, symbolizing faith and hope. Together, GrandRainbowZ represents her dream of creating a brand that is not only impactful but also recognized globally as one of Nigeria’s leading art brands. It serves as a constant reminder of the greatness she aims to achieve and the positive impact she wants to make.

Dalyop’s ultimate goal is to grow her brand and business extensively in Bauchi and extend her reach to as many local communities within and outside Nigeria. She wants to share her blessings and inspire others through her work.

To aspiring entrepreneurs, Dalyop offers this advice: never neglect your passion, no matter how the world perceives it. Every successful person started with just an idea. Take baby steps, stay focused, and avoid distractions and self-doubt. Strive to develop yourself at every opportunity, and remember that what may not make sense to others could be the very thing destined for greatness. Good thinking, prayer, and hard work—without room for doubt—are essential.

As she often reminds herself, "Every successful person started with just an idea to do something." So, she encourages others to look within themselves, take the necessary steps, and keep moving forward. Your passion and determination will pave the way for your success. And for Dalyop, that path is illuminated by the vibrant colors of her GrandRainbowZ.

From Dambam to Dambam Studios: The Story of Muslim Abdullahi

Let me tell you about Muslim Abdullahi, a young man whose journey from a small town in Nigeria to the forefront of the digital media landscape is truly inspiring. Born in Dambam, Bauchi State, on February 20th, 1996, Muslim's early life was a blend of childhood adventures and a growing curiosity about the world around him. This curiosity, coupled with a latent passion for design, would eventually guide his path.
He pursued his academic endeavors at Kano University of Science and Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. While the rigorous curriculum honed his analytical and problem-solving skills, it was outside the classroom where his true passion began to take shape. During his free time, he immersed himself in the vast ocean of knowledge available on YouTube. He followed the journeys of renowned brand designers, tech reviewers, motivational speakers, and even professional gamers. These online mentors, accessible with a simple click, became his unconventional teachers, inspiring him to explore the boundless possibilities of creativity.
His professional journey, however, began with a more conventional path. He secured a position at a local café, where he spent eight months gaining valuable experience in customer service and building essential life skills. This period, while seemingly unrelated to his creative aspirations, instilled in him the importance of hard work, dedication, and the value of every experience.
A life-altering opportunity soon presented itself when he joined Arewa24, a leading television network. This role proved to be a pivotal moment in his career. Access to cutting-edge technology and a dynamic environment allowed him to delve deeper into his passion for design. He explored new horizons, venturing into the realm of artificial intelligence, refining his video editing skills, and expanding his design expertise. This period of growth was marked by continuous learning, with certifications and remote collaborations with various companies further solidifying his professional standing.
However, his journey was not without its challenges. Limited resources and time constraints often presented significant hurdles. He overcame these obstacles by prioritizing effectively, maximizing the potential of the resources available to him, and maintaining a laser focus on his long-term goals.
His educational background, while seemingly unrelated to design, has profoundly influenced his approach to his profession. The rigorous training in electrical engineering instilled in him a systematic approach to problem-solving, enabling him to analyze challenges, identify root causes, and devise efficient solutions. Moreover, the discipline of engineering fostered a deep-seated appreciation for continuous learning, a crucial trait in the ever-evolving world of design.
Driven by an insatiable curiosity and an unwavering belief in the power of creativity, he embarked on a mission to translate his passion into a tangible reality. Thus, Dambam Studios was born. The name itself is a testament to his roots, a reminder of the journey from a small town to a global stage. They actively engage with their audience, listening to their feedback, understanding their needs, and tailoring their offerings to resonate with their interests. This two-way communication fosters trust and loyalty, creating a vibrant community that shares their vision for a more creative and connected world.
One of the most memorable projects undertaken by Dambam Studios was their collaboration with the Kano State Water Board. This project was not merely a professional milestone; it was a deeply personal achievement. It provided him with the opportunity to contribute to his community in a tangible way, aligning his creative endeavors with a cause that directly impacted the lives of his fellow citizens.
While they prefer to maintain a degree of confidentiality regarding ongoing projects, I can assure you that Dambam Studios is constantly pushing the boundaries of creativity. They are currently working on several exciting initiatives that align with their vision of inspiring and innovating in the digital media space.
For aspiring young entrepreneurs, Muslim offers this advice: nurture your passion, cultivate perseverance, and never lose sight of your goals. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, and remember that your journey is unique. Help yourself first, and the support of others will follow. The sky is truly the limit.
